What is the Spotted Lanternfly Invasion Archive?
The Spotted Lanternfly Invasion Archive (SLFIA) is a project designed to combine community engagement with the creation of a historical record of an invasive species. Participants collect samples of Spotted Lanternflies from various locations in the United States. Each participant is encouraged to return to the same location to collect Spotted Lanternflies yearly to best track how the species moves and adapts over the next several years. Samples are then studied to further understand genetic, morphological1, and metabolic2 traits of this species as they change in our environments.
